Research heavily supports the value of coaching in the classroom (Joyce & Showers, 2002). Coaching in the classroom takes knowledge acquisition from 5% (workshops with activities) to classroom use 95% (classroom implementation).
I am wholly convinced of the value and results coaching provides. My richest learning experiences have come from the generosity of great coaches. The power of having others’ faith in my skills and ability has driven me to reach higher than I could have imagined. It’s my mission to do the same for you.
Coaching can be completely customized to your individual needs.

Provide reassurance with sticky cases
Susan is an amazing teacher and mentor! I have been lucky enough to attend some of her trainings and she has provided much appreciated consultation to my district. Her breadth of knowledge is incredible and her trainings are so well-organized, practical, and state-of-the art. She is always my "go to" person whenever I have a question about assistive technology. I could not be the AT Specialist I am today without her continued guidance and support.

"Just-in-Time" Support Imagine being able to video conference or call ,with an experienced professional, to discuss students you will be assessing. We can set up a contract with a specified number of consult hours. We can discuss your assessment plan prior to seeing the student, your findings after you see the student or what you need to go back and try. You can use the time any way that supports your skill development "just in time" to meet your needs.
Assistive Technology Assessments Need and IEE or help with a sticky case? I love challenges. If at all possible, use your assessment dollars to also provide professional development for other team-members. Collaborating & teaching while I assess offers unique opportunities for learning.
Susan has been a great asset to our District. She truly understands assistive technology in an educational setting and her assessments reflect her knowledge. We hope to continue our relationship with her for years to come!
Sharon Amrhein, Special Education Director, Hart High School District, Santa Clarita, CA
Universal Design for Learning As districts implement UDL strategies, curriculum coaches from the district will be needed to provide support. Each district I support must offer this component. My extended training and coaching will be to these coaches as their support of teachers is essential.
I consider Susan one of the top practitioners in her field. She has been a tremendous resource for our department, and has provided excellent guidance and support. I would strongly recommend her services to anyone who is looking to either begin or strengthen their approach to UDL. Scott Jensen, Special Ed. Director
